2008 National Service Coordinator Conference Scholarships
Service coordinators needing financial assistance to attend the 2008 National Service Coordinator Conference in Washington, DC can now apply for a $1000 scholarship. Registration fees will be covered by the scholarship and the balance can be used for travel expense reimbursement.
The AASC scholarship fund was created with the endorsement of the AASC Board of Directors to assist service coordinators to reach a higher level of performance by participating in the conference and enhance their knowledge so they will, in turn, contribute to their organization, the profession as a whole and be better able to serve their residents.
In order to be eligible, an applicant must:
- a) be a member of AASC in good standing,
b) have the approval of his or her supervisor to attend and participate in the full conference,
c) have completed six months of continuous employment as a service coordinator,
d) provide written documentation from employer proving financial hardship
e) have not previously received a scholarship from AASC to attend a National Service Coordinator Conference.
The $1000 scholarship covers the cost of registration. The balance can be used for travel expenses and will be paid upon submission of receipts after the conference. Scholarship awardees are required to stay at the conference hotel.

All applications must be received in the AASC office by 5 p.m. EDT Friday, August 1, 2008. Applications received after August 1 will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed and awardees notified by August 15.
